The Elder Scrolls Online: What lies ahead?

The Elder Scrolls online came as a shock to many. A series that is famously notorious for its single player gameplay being turned into a MMO was sure to turn heads. In fact, the fans' reaction to this game has been rather split. Some gamer's welcome the concept, while others think it's doomed to fail. However, it may be fair that both wish to see it succeed.

Fans do have a right to be skeptical about the game as the fact it is an MMO will change many conventions that Elder Scrolls fans have become used to. For example, no longer will players be able to slaughter an entire village of people for the sake of it, and this is something that has rather become a feature of the Elder Scrolls games.

Yet, long have some wished to play The Elder Scrolls games with their friends. The idea of braving the vast world of Skyrim with another has been in the daydreams of many. Although, it may be more safe to assume that what most people want is a co-operative mode where you'd play with a few of your friends rather an entire server full.

There are further concerns surrounding the game as significantly there is a different development team making the online title to those who make the single player games. Bethesda Softworks' sister company, Zenimax Online Studios are in charge of development and this alone makes some wonder if this online title will be able to capture what makes The Elder Scrolls games so great.

A lot of people will reserve their judgement until they get their hands on the beta - which is due sometime this year. Until then, we will have to wait upon the tidbits of information we are given from Zenimax Online Studios.
