Recently announced at CES is the system that will potentially house the Steam software. Xi3 have developed a modular computer which drastically reduces size and power intake yet is able to compete with the performance of modern machines.
It is on a version of these systems that Valve's digital store will be integrated and sold as an alternative to other consoles. When the box will be available hasn't been released yet. However, it will be interesting to see how much performance these tiny computers will be able to pump out and whether it will be a viable contender in the console/pc gaming market.
